Android-based apps (including Fire TV and Oculus Quest) will send anonymous app analytics data to Google Firebase. This data is used to measure general app performance, as well as provide crash logs and diagnostic information to the app developers. Firebase uses an ID to identify individual devices, but this is not information that’s available to the app developers.
Because sent data is anonymized, there is no way for the app developers to delete it.
Our advertising partners will use an “advertising ID” to offer personalised ads, with the following exceptions:
- Users in the EU can opt out of personalised ads (and hence use of the advertising ID) from the app’s Options/Settings menu.
- Apps which target children or families do not use the advertising ID, and hence do not collect any personalised data. Also, the ads shown will be appropriate to the target age range of our users.
The app developers have no way to delete any data that’s been sent to an advertising partner.
App platform providers such as Google Play, Amazon Appstore, and the Apple App Store provide user interface elements within some of our apps for things like user logins, in-app purchasing, leaderboards, and highscore tables. Information that you provide using these user interface elements is between you and those parties, and subject to their privacy policies.
The app developers have no way to delete any data that’s been sent to a platform provider in this way.
