Installing MIDlets using PC-to-phone messaging
If you have an infra-red or Bluetooth PC connection (infra-red
connections are very common on laptops these days), you could try
simply sending the program JAD and JAR files as messages from your
PC to your phone. Firstly, switch on your phone's infra-red or bluetooth
connection, and then, in the case of an infra-red connection, align
the phone's infra-red port with that of your PC. Your PC will usually
signal the fact that it has established a connection with the phone
by popping up a notification message of some kind.
Next, locate the application's JAD and JAR files using Windows
File Explorer, highlight the JAD and JAR files and click the RIGHT
mouse button. Select the "Send to" option, and from there
the "A Nearby Computer" option. This should get the message
              transferal underway.
When the files have been transferred, your phone will probably
inform you that it has received some messages and you should view
these as normal. Upon viewing, the phone will hopefully offer you
the option to install the application. Just click "yes"!
Note that some phones cannot install MIDlets this way - they're
simply not set up to receive MIDlets as messages.
Note that to install using this method, you will first need to read Preparing a MIDlet for installation from your PC. |
